About the Role Are you a passionate and experienced Chef Manager ready to lead a fast-paced, high-volume school kitchen? We are seeking a dedicated School Chef Manager to take the reins of a busy secondary school kitchen based in Wood Green (N22), serving up to 1,200 students daily .
This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef who thrives in leadership, is passionate about food and nutrition, and enjoys making a difference in the school community. You will be responsible for managing all kitchen operations, leading a large team of General Assistants, and delivering daily breakfast and lunch services to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and deliver healthy, nutritious meals in line with national school food standards
Lead and manage a large team of General Assistants, ensuring smooth kitchen operations
Oversee daily food production for breakfast and lunch service for approximately 1,200 students
Maintain excellent standards in food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen control
Manage food ordering, stock control, waste minimisation, and kitchen budgeting
Work closely with school leadership on menu planning, dietary needs, and themed events
Foster a supportive and inclusive dining experience for students and staff
About You Were looking for a Chef Manager who:
Has significant experience in large-scale catering, ideally within an education setting
Possesses strong people management skills and thrives in leading large teams
Is passionate about delivering healthy, child-friendly meals
Can manage stock, budgets, and compliance with ease
Has relevant food safety qualifications (e.g., Food Safety Level 3, HACCP)
Communicates effectively and works well under pressure
