About EdgeBeam
EdgeBeam is redefining the wireless edge. We are building a next generation ATSC datacastingplatform that merges unicast and broadcast capabilities to deliver scalable, high-performance, and cost-efficient connectivity for enterprises, industries, and edge-native applications.
Our founding partners—Sinclair, Nexstar, Gray, and Scripps—provide unparalleled access to broadcast spectrum. Combined with modern wireless infrastructure and cloud-native delivery models, EdgeBeam is poised to lead a new category of edge-focused wireless services.
We’re building a world-class leadership team to bring this vision to market. The Chief Technology Officer will drive EdgeBeam’s technical strategy and execution across all layers of the platform, from network core to hybrid edge devices.
Role Overview
The CTO will drive EdgeBeam’s technical strategy and execution across all layers of the platform, from network core to hybrid edge devices. This leader will play a critical role in integrating EdgeBeam’s unique ATSC 3.0 broadcast infrastructure into standard 3GPP and IP protocols—transparent to application developers—and will architect a unified system that combines broadcast, unicast, and edge intelligence.
The CTO will also own EdgeBeam’s hybrid edge device strategy, establishing the technical framework and early implementations that link 5G and ATSC 3.0 into one seamless delivery fabric.
Key Responsibilities
·Define and own EdgeBeam’s technical architecture, with special emphasis on integrating ATSC 3.0 broadcast into IP-based networking and 3GPP standards
·Design and implement the company’s hybrid edge device strategy—combining 5G and ATSC 3.0 interfaces in a seamless system for connectivity and caching
·Select and manage relationships with MNOs, MVNEs, core-network vendors, and infrastructure/cloud providers
·Build and lead the engineering, network, and operations teams from early stages through scale-up
·Drive Build/Buy/Partner decisions in order to architect and implement key systems including BSS/OSS, SIM/eSIM provisioning, telemetry, and DevOps pipelines
·Ensure platform security, reliability, compliance, and observability from day one
·Collaborate cross-functionally with product, business development, and executive leadership
·Represent the company externally with strategic partners and customers
What You’ll Do — First 30 / 90 / 180 Days
First 30 Days
·Deep dive into EdgeBeam’s existing architecture, partner relationships, and ATSC 3.0 capabilities
·Define initial priorities and technical roadmap in partnership with CEO and early team
·Assess buy/build/partner decisions for core platform components and edge device software
·Drive hybrid edge device reference architecture
First 90 Days
·Finalize architecture for ATSC/5G integration and application-layer abstraction
·Define and recruit initial engineering and operations team
·Select MVNE and initiate implementation planning
·Oversee development of edge device with dual-stack (5G + ATSC) capability
By Day 180
·Launch MVP of platform components including SIM provisioning, monitoring, and integration layer
·Drive integration testing with network partners and broadcast infrastructure
·Prepare technical foundation for public product launch and early customer pilots
·Develop long-term roadmap, technical OKRs, and scaling strategy for the engineering org
