Job Type: Full-time, 8.15am–3.30pm (Temp-to-Perm Opportunity)
Salary: £100–£120 per day (dependent on role and experience)
Start Date: April 2026 onwards (September 2026 starts also available)

Whether you are an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant or an ECT seeking to gain varied classroom experience, we have exciting opportunities across welcoming and supportive primary schools in the Tameside area.
Schools are seeking committed HLTA practitioners to provide a mix of classroom-based support, targeted interventions and whole-class PPA cover across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. These positions have arisen as schools are planning ahead to close learning gaps, support key assessment points (Phonics Screening, MTC and Year 2 & 6 summative assessments) and ensure consistent, high-quality learning during staff absences.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality PPA cover, delivering pre-prepared lessons across EYFS–KS2
* Adapt confidently to different classes, year groups and subjects
* Deliver small-group and 1:1 interventions to raise attainment in phonics, reading, writing, maths and SPaG
* Support teaching and learning daily, contributing to a positive, inclusive learning environment
* Assist the teacher in preparing engaging learning resources and materials
* Provide feedback to pupils and support ongoing assessment
* Promote inclusion for pupils with SEND, EAL and varying abilities
* Uphold high standards of behaviour and contribute to the wider school ethos
Qualifications:
* HLTA status or equivalent Level 4 qualification (QTS or ECTs also warmly welcomed)
* Experience working in primary schools (across EYFS,KS1, KS2)
* Strong behaviour management and confidence delivering whole-class lessons
* Flexibility, resilience and a proactive, positive attitude
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
* An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
