Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support teaching and learning within the classroom in and around Powys. The role involves working alongside teachers to help pupils engage with lessons, stay focused, and achieve learning objectives across the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
Classroom Learning Support
Support pupils during whole-class teaching, group work, and independent activities
Reinforce lesson instructions and learning objectives
Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and displays
Help maintain a positive, well-organised, and inclusive classroom environment
Pupil Engagement & Behaviour
Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in line with school policies
Support pupils in developing confidence, independence, and teamwork skills
Supervise pupils during lessons, transitions, break times, and activities
Teacher & School Support
Work closely with the class teacher to support lesson delivery
Assist with basic assessment tasks and record keeping
Support school events, trips, and extracurricular activities as required
Person Specification
Essential
Experience working with children or young people
Good communication and interpersonal skills
A positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
