To work as a member of the NOTSSCaN operating theatre team, and to participate in the delivery of patient care while working alongside registered staff.
· To provide a safe and clean environment for the patients throughout the peri-operative pathway while maintaining the agreed standards.

Working in the Nuffield Orthopaedic operating theatres you will be part of the operating theatre team providing support for the theatres.
Main duties of the job
Always maintain patient dignity and confidentiality.
To transport conscious/ unconscious patients safely between all acute care areas; to and from any area of the hospital to the anaesthetic room, theatres, or recovery room, including treatment rooms such as Radiology/ward treatment rooms and Endoscopy.
Assisting with the safe transfer and positioning of the conscious and unconscious patients onto and off the operating table. Ensure all areas within the Operating Department are clean and tidy in line with hospital policy and that adequate stock levels are maintained.
Undertake cleaning and tidying furniture and equipment in accordance with cleaning schedules/allocation sheet, used in theatre and associated rooms as necessary, ensuring items which need repair are reported. To take responsibility for the outside corridors ensuring that they are kept clear, clean, and tidy throughout the -hour period.
Cleaning all theatres, anaesthetic rooms, floors, walls, sluice area and any other area that requires cleaning daily or as required. Movement of items stored in corridors to enable cleaning of corridor floors. Participating in Theatre wall washing (Deep Cleaning) programme as required. Removing clinical waste, linen and sharp bins within theatres prepare for collection or disposal.
