Electricity Energy Networks
* Primary plant systems from 11kV to >400kV
* Protection, control, and secondary systems
* Cable systems (terrestrial and subsea)
* Power systems analysis
Nuclear
Be part of the safe and responsible transformation of legacy nuclear infrastructure. You’ll contribute to high‑impact decommissioning projects that protect people and the planet, while gaining exposure to cutting‑edge engineering and regulatory environments.
Thermal Generation
Support the evolution of thermal energy assets to meet modern demands with efficiency and sustainability. You’ll help optimise performance, reduce emissions, and ensure operational excellence across diverse technologies.
Responsibilities
* Optioneering and cost benefit analysis to support our clients to determine the optimum way to approach their challenges
* Front‑End‑Engineering‑Design (FEED) to progress a concept design to a maturity that can be procured, including cost estimation
* Detailed design for construction, developing complex BIM models in cutting edge software environments
* Construction and operation monitoring to ensure assets are built and operated to design
* Interface with various global stakeholders ranging from utilities, transmission network operators, EPC Contractors, OEMs, Investors, Developers, and Government and Regulatory bodies in a fast‑paced environment and take part in high‑profile projects with dynamic challenges.

As part of your application, we will ask you to select your preferred opportunity based on the location and sector. Security clearance may be required for some positions. Eligible candidates are UK nationals or have lived in the UK for five years or more.
Locations include Brighton, Croydon, Glasgow and York.
Applications for this role will be reviewed throughout October and November and successful applicants will then be invited to an interview/assessment centre in December.
Candidate Specification
* Relevant bachelor’s degree (minimum), with some opportunities requiring master’s degree; specific disciplines include Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering.
* Less than 12 months of relevant experience (excluding placements) and degree obtained no earlier than 2024.
* Demonstrated genuine interest in Mott MacDonald through relevant experience, research, or modules studied.
* Proactive initiative, strong communication skills, high‑quality written work, structured analytical approach to problem solving.
