We are seeking a Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC) to join a busy manufacturing company based in Lydney. The RWC will be responsible for ensuring all welding operations comply with relevant industry standards, such as ISO 3834 and EN 1090.
Responsibilities:
1. Verify that welders are qualified for specific tasks and that welding procedures are properly documented and followed.
2. Ensure compliance with CE marking/UKCA requirements and other regulations.
3. Develop and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
4. Oversee daily welding operations, ensuring adherence to approved procedures and standards.
5. Plan and manage complex welding work orders.
6. Test welder qualifications to ensure necessary skills and knowledge.
7. Drive continuous improvement in welding processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
Requirements:
1. Understanding and application of standards like ISO 3834 or EN 1090, and ability to develop and review welding procedures.
2. Strong knowledge of various welding processes (e.g., MAG, MMA, SAW) and metallurgy.
3. Proficiency in inspecting and testing welds, understanding acceptance/rejection criteria, and managing quality systems.
4. Knowledge of selecting and controlling welding materials and consumables.
5. Understanding non-destructive (NDT) and destructive testing methods.
6. Ability to supervise welding personnel, manage pre-fabrication, and understand relevant standards.
