Heavy Equipment Mechanic Newry £40,000 per annum The Role Our client in Newry is currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join their maintenance team. This is a permanent position offering a strong salary, job security, and the opportunity to work with a modern fleet of heavy vehicles and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and repair of HGVs and heavy plant equipment, ensuring vehicles are kept to a high standard of safety and reliability. Key Responsibilities Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on HGVs and heavy equipment Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults Perform breakdown repairs in a workshop environment (and occasional field work if required) Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations Maintain accurate service and repair records Work closely with fleet and operations teams to minimise downtime Requirements Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Mechanic Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent preferred) Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills Experience working with heavy vehicles, plant, or construction equipment HGV licence desirable but not essential Ability to work independently and as part of a team Whats on Of £40,000 salary Stable, long-term position Well-equipped workshop and maintained fleet Supportive management and structured work environment Opportunity to develop skills on modern heavy equipment For a confidential conversation on how Capex Recruitment can support you with your next move, reach out to Calum Cowie today.
