Job Details: We currently have a permanent vacancy in Ostlers Care Home, Kirkcaldy. Assistant Cook - 33.25 hours per week as required 5 days from 7 rota, with one long weekend off in 4, on a 52 week contract. Duties will include preparation of food and beverages and the organisation of the service of food, along with understanding the requirements of special diets. Duties may include serving of meals, general kitchen and dining room duties (for example washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables), and cleaning of the kitchen, its surround and equipment. Completion of basic bookwork and electronic returns may also be required. You will earn a competitive salary of £24,740.74 pro-rata and have access to a range of benefits, including:
* £13.18 per hour, plus extra payments for shift work, including weekends.

The Person: Do you have catering experience or a qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent? Ability to provide a regular and effective service, working alone or as part of a team. You will be required to attend an induction training day before starting in post. Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme. We particularly encourage applications from men, who are currently underrepresented within this type of work.
