About Our Client
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, who is a young engineer living and working in Stevenage. Our client is an electric wheelchair user and has Becker Muscular Dystrophy which causes progressive muscle weakness. No care experience is needed; all training will be given.

Pay rate: £210 per day
Shift Pattern: 1 week on / 1 week off (handovers on Tuesdays; flexibility required for trips)

About the Job
A live-in Personal Assistant is required to assist the client with day-to-day activities, including personal care, basic housekeeping, meal preparation, and support at work. Responsibilities include:
* Assisting with toileting, showering, dressing and personal hygiene
* Preparing and cooking meals, washing up and domestic shopping
* Maintaining a clean and tidy house
* Supporting weight-bearing exercises and social activities
* Providing assistance at work trips, holidays, and public transport as needed
* Being available during the night if required
The client may travel abroad for work; a valid passport is essential.
Mobility
The client uses a powered wheelchair; a mobile hoist is used for transfers. The home is carpeted, requiring some physical strength to move the hoist.
Eating and Drinking
The client can eat and drink independently but requires a PA to prepare meals, wash up, open bottles and assist with shopping.
Dressing and Personal Hygiene
The client needs help getting dressed and ready for work each morning and assistance with showering using a hoist. Daily weight-bearing exercises also require help.
During the Client’s Work Day
Work is in the office 2-3 days per week and at home on other days. The PA supports setup of laptop and documents, toileting, lunch preparation, packing the bag, car pickup, and remains reachable by phone.
Weekends
Weekends are more flexible; the client enjoys hobbies, socialising and relaxing.
Benefits
The PA will have a private en suite room in the client’s home. The shift pattern is one week on, one week off, with handovers often on Tuesdays.
