We are seeking a talented, self-motivated individual to join us as a Stores Assistant on a 5 month contract basis until the end of the year at SPT Labtech. The successful person will support all aspects of the Stores function and will be a key part of our mission to support our customers making a positive difference to human health. You’ll be dynamic, forward thinking and willing to identify initiatives that will improve departmental efficiencies and enhance our internal department communications. Your key responsibilities will include: Primary responsibility for the precise & meticulous packing of all completed laboratory instruments for customer requirements and UK storage in advance of future shipments including consumable and demo instruments and peripherals. Co-ordinate and request the ancillaries/peripherals to accompany instrument shipments and ensure availability. Oversee the ordering of packing material (including crates) in accordance with company order requirements and expectations. Act as cover for Instrument demo requirements and prepare in readiness for shipment. Update and maintain a Sharepoint site for all packing history and shipping images to assist with eliminating customer discrepancies Maintain and update all packing procedures for Instruments in accordance with company requirements. Communicate with production and logistics to ensure daily packing requirements are adhered to in accordance with shipping schedules & quality standards Assisting with general ad hoc admin duties, such as filing, doc-tracking, etc Excellent communication skills. Conscientious, meticulous, positive and enthusiastic with a willingness to learn a variety of tasks Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word / Excel. Skills & Attributes You will be: A great team player with a willingness to learn. Educated to GCSE level with success in Maths, English highly desired. Microsoft office skills. Advanced problem solving and fault-finding abilities. Strong communication skills. Ability to manage all aspects of the role working to sometimes very tight deadlines. Ability to multi-task and flexibility to working practices preferred. Some manual lifting will be required with this position. Stores experience desirable but not essential.
