We are working with a well-established and highly respected business within the standby power and energy sector. With over 40 years of industry experience, they specialise in the supply, installation, hire, and maintenance of critical power systems including generators, UPS systems, and associated switchgear.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit a Projects Engineer – Maintenance to join their field-based engineering team, supporting projects across the UK.

The Role This is a field-based position involving travel and occasional overnight stays. You will act as a principal engineer on-site, responsible for delivering maintenance projects, upgrades, and technical support across a variety of customer installations.
Key Responsibilities
Attend customer sites as the lead engineer on maintenance projects
Carry out controller and panel upgrades, fuel tank installations, and system modifications
Perform installation and commissioning of power generation equipment
Conduct fault finding across a wide range of generators, engines, and control systems
Support multi-set and synchronisation systems with mains supplies
Complete site surveys and provide technical input for project planning
Provide technical support to office teams, workshop staff, and field engineers
Assist in the preparation of RAMS and ensure compliance with H&S standards
Complete all documentation and reports accuratelyAbout You
Strong background in electrical engineering, particularly within LV power generation and distribution
Experience working with generators, standby power systems, or similar equipment
Knowledge of control systems such as ComAp or Deep Sea Electronics (DSE)
PLC programming experience
Familiar with engine control and diagnostic software (e.g. ComAp PC Suite, DSE Configuration Suite)
Experience with synchronisation and multi-set systems
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working independently in a field-based role
Flexible approach to travel and working away when required
Full UK driving licenceDesirable Skills
Gas Safe qualification
Knowledge of networking or IT systems
CAD experience
Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualifications
18th Edition wiring regulations
CSCS card
