Permanent Porter (Housekeeping & Estate Operative) – Luxury Residential Development

Salary: £30,700 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week
Schedule:
9am – 6pm with a 1-hour lunch break. The role operates on a rota basis, so weekend work will be required from time to time while maintaining a 40-hour working week. If you work a Saturday, you will receive a day off during the week.
We are seeking a proactive, personable, and hardworking Porter to support the smooth day-to-day running of a luxury residential development. This is a varied, hands-on role that combines both Housekeeping and Estate Operative responsibilities, ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards and enjoys working as part of a team to create a welcoming environment for residents.
You will play an important role in ensuring the development remains clean, safe, and well-presented at all times while delivering friendly and helpful service to residents and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Estate Operative Duties:
* Carry out minor landscaping tasks such as watering plants, trimming bushes, and litter picking.
* Operate the parcel room, coordinating deliveries and collections efficiently.
* Support parking management across the development.
* Assist with rubbish collection and waste management processes.
* Jet wash external areas to maintain presentation standards.
Housekeeping Duties:
* Hoover and mop floors across communal areas including lobbies and stairwells.
* Polish glass surfaces and windows to a high standard.
* Clean resident amenity spaces and ensure they are properly set up for events and private bookings.
* Maintain excellent overall cleanliness and presentation throughout the building.
* The ideal candidate will be reliable, approachable, and motivated, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to take on a variety of practical tasks.
Candidate Requirements:
* Previous experience in an estate operative, housekeeping, facilities, or maintenance role.
* Good level of English, with the confidence to communicate effectively with residents regarding parcel management and general enquiries.
* Personable, friendly, and service-oriented.
* Hardworking with strong attention to detail.
* Able to manage physical tasks and work proactively without constant supervision.
* A five-star background is not essential — attitude, reliability, and professionalism are key.
