A full-time, permanent Scheme Support Officer in a supported housing service, Janner House, Cardiff. You will be required to work on a rolling rota which includes days and sleep-in shifts (additional £62.64 sleep-in payment). Who are Codi Group? About the role - Janner House provide temporary supported accommodation for adults who are 18, motivated to change and willing to engage with solutions focused housing related support. The service supports people to develop the key skills needed to prevent homelessness, improve financial capability and to develop the skills to settle in the community and achieve positive progression. You will play an essential part of our team where you’d be required to work in the project and in the community - supporting people in their own homes. As a Scheme Support Officer You will assist the Project Workers in delivering support to those accessing our service who are working toward realistic goals around independent living, confidence-building, training and employment opportunities and their overall health and wellbeing. The aim of our service is to provide a helping hand to those who have previous criminal offenses and are working toward a fresh introduction into society. Your day will consist of: Work with people to truly make a difference in their life Use your skills and talents to engage with people Support people to achieve their potential Develop your networking skills by working in partnership with external agencies Encourage community engagement Our aim is to ensure we equip these individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role, and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse and anti-social and offending behaviour. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental. Who we are looking for: Ability to work with and build rapport with vulnerable and disadvantaged people and to provide support and advice appropriately Ability to work well within a team Ability to prioritise tasks and manage own workload with minimal supervision Relevant experience or transferable skills Demonstrate the right attitudes in line with Codi Values IT Literate Ability to deal with challenging and emergency situations Good communication skills Part of your role will also include sleep-in shifts at the scheme, you will be provided with a secluded area that includes a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen facilities. To be a great Scheme Support Officer, you don’t always need previous experience or qualifications. Awareness of issues faced by people at risk of homelessness would be extremely useful in the role.
