Mechanical Engineer Location: Nottingham Salary: £29,120 x1.5 overtime rate & x2 call out rate Hours: Monday – Friday (40 hours per week) Call-out/Overtime as required Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair, overhaul, and maintenance of gearboxes, electric motors, and pumps within a busy workshop environment. You will ensure that all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, supporting overall workshop performance and customer satisfaction. Duties and Responsibilities: Carry out repair, overhaul, and testing of gearboxes, electric motors, and pumps. Ensure all work is completed to meet deadlines and customer requirements. Complete workshop documentation, job cards, and daily timesheets accurately and on time. Maintain high standards of quality, cleanliness, and organisation in the workshop. Adhere to all company and workshop Health and Safety protocols, including correct use of PPE. Collaborate with colleagues to achieve departmental goals and contribute to a team-focused environment. Be available for call-out shifts or overtime as required by the Workshop Manager. Perform any other reasonable duties within your capabilities as directed by the Workshop Manager. Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience in the repair and maintenance of gearboxes, electric motors, and pumps. Good mechanical understanding and problem-solving ability. Basic computer literacy (MS Office or equivalent). Strong understanding of workshop safety protocols and PPE. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
