The Education Specialists (TES) are working in Partnership with an Independant SEN Group who have a small number of Schools across South Manchester and Tameside.
They are looking to recruit a Behaviour Mentor to work in their Dukinfield based site on a full time, permanent basis. The school caters for up to 42 pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (11-16), pupils have Social Emotional Mental Health Needs / Disorders. The school is wonderfully resourced to meet the needs of their pupils, with a real focus on ensuring they can access the curriculum through to KS4 exams and preparing pupils for those next steps after school. The Group have a number of school settings in the locality, so you would not only be joining a strong team at the school but also a welcoming and supportive team across the wider Group.
The role is to work as a Behaviour Mentor with pupils, helping them to overcome barriers to learning, working to understand their triggers, utilising de-escalation techniques. Due to the complex needs of the pupils, challenging behaviours can be displayed so having resilience and a clear passion for ensuring these pupils can reach their true potential. Experience of working with children / young adults with SEMH / complex needs is essential; this may be in a school, youth or external setting.
