Overview

We are recruiting Teaching Assistants for a SEND Primary School in Knowsley. Roles include 1:1 support and general classroom support. The school provides educational provision for pupils who have an Education, Health and Social Care Plan due to severe learning difficulties and/or complex autism.

The School is recognised as an Outstanding school. Pupils are grouped according to stage of development and follow a curriculum designed to meet their needs, with a focus on providing the very best learning and development opportunities and a personalised learning journey for each pupil.


Role Details

Starting October 2025

* Full Time, Term Time
* Teaching assistant rate: £90 - £99 per day
* Working hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, 195 days a year as per school term dates
* Contract: Temp to Permanent

Teaching assistants make the education of their students their first concern and are key to the students achieving the highest possible outcomes.

You will be a professional teaching assistant with honesty and integrity at the centre of everything you do. With a strong commitment to safeguarding students, you will be child-centred with high aspirations for those you support.

Responsibilities

* Support students with their socio-emotional engagement with learning and promote independence in a safe environment.
* Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for each student.
* Promote the inclusion of all students, so that all have equal opportunities to feel included and to contribute to school life.
* Create a supportive and relaxed working environment that makes students feel happy and secure.
* Implement the positive behaviour approaches set out by the school, including Restorative Practice and Zones of Regulation.

A good understanding of behaviour as communication, attachment theory, SEMH needs in the classroom, and the theory underlying nurture provision are ideal for any professional working in our school.
