Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our Nursing team in providing exceptional care to our patients. It is essential that the candidate has previous experience of working within a GP Surgery as a Healthcare Assistant and a passion for helping others and ensuring the well-being of patients.
Duties
Working under our Practice Nurse Lead and practice nurses, and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, you will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care. The healthcare assistant will be able to apply their clinical skills and knowledge to carry out high quality practice within designated clinical areas such as:
* Provide general and specific screening to practice patients.
* Assist with managing and developing care programmes for individual patients within specific long term condition groups.
* Plan and implement health campaigns.
* Carry out immunisations and assist with chronic disease management, e.g. diabetes.
* Give advice on healthy living and carry out NHS Health Checks.
* General clinical work including; wound care, recording blood pressures, ECG's and phlebotomy etc.
You will work alongside our practice nurses, HCAs, GPs, ANPs, pharmacist, and other healthcare professional within our primary care network. The role will offer you the opportunity to build on your experience, skills and competence, requiring you to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Experience
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal
- Previous experience of working within General Practice is essential and a knowledge of Systmone would be advantageous
- Basic IT skills for data entry and record management
