*Role Purpose:*
The Quantity Surveyor supports RFM Group Service's commercial and operational performance by managing costs, valuations, contracts, and financial control across Fit-out and refurbishment projects.
The role provides strong commercial rigour, protects margin, improves cashflow, and ensures disciplined adherence to processes as part of RFM Group Service's cultural shift toward greater accountability and professionalism.
*Key Responsibilities:*
*1. Pre‑Contract & Estimating Support*
* Support accurate pricing by reviewing drawings, specifications, bills and scopes.
* Provide commercial input into tenders, risk reviews and value engineering.
* Work with Estimating and Commercial teams to ensure pricing aligns with target margins.
*2. Cost Management & Financial Control*
* Prepare and maintain project cost plans, budgets and financial forecasts.
* Track actual costs vs budget and raise early warnings for variance.
* Maintain strong commercial records to support reporting and decision-making.
*3. Valuations, Applications, Invoicing & Debt Management*
* Produce accurate monthly valuations and payment applications.
* Ensure timely certification and approval with clients and main contractors.
* Prepare reconciliations and assist finance with monthly cashflow forecasting.
* Monitor outstanding debt for live and completed projects, proactively chase overdue balances.
* Identify risks in aged debt, implement recovery actions, and support debt reduction targets.
* Ensure commercial submissions and supporting documentation reduce payment delays and disputes.
*4. Change Control & Variations*
* Identify, quantify, price and submit variations promptly.
* Maintain full documentation to protect commercial entitlements.
* Prevent scope creep and communicate commercial impacts clearly.
*5. Contract Administration*
* Ensure compliance with NEC/JCT terms and RFM Group Service's commercial processes.
* Maintain contractual notices, delay notifications, and relevant commercial correspondence.
* Support risk identification, mitigation and contractual governance.
*6. Supply Chain & Procurement Support*
* Work with Procurement and Operations to secure competitive material and subcontract pricing.
* Evaluate supplier performance in terms of cost, quality and lead times.
*7. Project Performance & Reporting*
* Provide clear weekly/monthly commercial updates for management reporting.
* Track project P&L, gross margin movement and commercial risks.
* Support post‑project close-out and final account agreements.
*8. Governance, Compliance & Process Discipline*
* Ensure commercial processes are followed consistently across all regions.
* Promote accuracy, accountability and integrity across commercial documentation.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial systems and reporting.
