We have an opportunity for an Operational CCTV Assistant to join the Customer Field Services team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Applicants should live within a reasonable commuting distance from our Cottingham Waste Water Site near Hull. Could this be you?
Work type:

Permanent. Working an average of 37 hours per week, on rotational work patterns to cover 24/7 working, which will include late, early and weekend work patterns.

Customer Field Services are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.

The Operational CCTV Assistant is a field-based role, working outdoors, in all weathers as part of a two-person team within a geographical team working to improve customer service and sewer performance. Working alongside a CCTV Technician to respond to incidents for customers and the environment whilst ensuring quality follow-on work is raised in accordance with our standards and specifications. Full training will be provided.

Where you fit in:

As our Operational CCTV Assistant, you will :
Proactively and reactively investigate the sewerage network using CCTV equipment.
Promote and implement solutions to prevent sewage escapes from the wastewater network.
Ensure no repeat incidents occur by identifying root causes and applying effective resolutions.
Collaborate closely with Yorkshire Water teams and contracted partners on-site.
Assist the Operational CCTV Technician with the safe operation of the CCTV unit.
Ensure correct site setup before work begins, in line with Yorkshire Water operational procedures.
Comply with all Health & Safety working practices and procedures at all times.
What skills, experience and training you will need:
You will be assisting in the operation of a CCTV vehicle and carrying out a range of manual handling duties including heavy lifting of manhole covers and operating heavy equipment.
It is essential that you have a practical mindset, enjoy working outdoors in all weathers and be comfortable taking a hands-on approach to work tasks.
You will have a strong Health & Safety mind-set and have a basic understanding of IT systems.
You will be liaising with operational teams, customers, and stakeholders in the role, therefore, team working, and communication is essential.
A full valid driving licence is a requirement of this role (with no more than 6 points).
You will be working a variety of rotas in the role to cover our 24/7 working window. In addition, once fully trained in the role you will need to take part in an emergency out of hours call out rota, therefore flexibility is an essential requirement of this role.
As part of this role, you will be required to work within confined spaces, any successful candidate must pass strict medical criteria including, BMI, vision, blood pressure, hearing, and Spirometry tests to ensure your full safety when working in hazardous environments.

You will also benefit from having:
Previous experience in a customer service with face-to-face communication with customers is desirable.
It would be advantageous to have some experience within wastewater, but not essential as full training will be provided
