Job Title: Trade Counter Assistant – Agricultural & Horticultural Equipment
Location: Surrey
Hours: 38 hours per week: Tuesday to Friday & Saturdays.
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £14–£15 per hour (dependent on experience)
About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Trade Counter Assistant to join my clients busy team in Surrey. The ideal candidate will have experience with agricultural and horticultural equipment and a passion for helping customers with their orders. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced retail environment, supporting both the workshop and the showroom.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist customers at the trade counter, providing advice and guidance on equipment and parts
* Support internal workshop technicians with parts identification
* Receive and distribute goods/orders accurately
* Handle cash, card, and cheque payments with accuracy
* Maintain showroom presentation and product displays
* Communicate effectively with customers via face-to-face, email, and telephone
* Work independently and as part of a team, using your own initiative when needed
Skills & Experience Required:
* Good knowledge of agricultural and horticultural equipment and parts (advantageous)
* Previous retail or showroom experience desirable
* Excellent customer service and people skills
* Good numeracy and literacy skills
* General computer skills, including email and internet use
* Full UK driving licence
* Smart and presentable appearance
* Motivated by sales and targets
* Ability to work under pressure during busy periods
* Maintain a good general level of health and fitness
