Healthii People is seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join a forward-thinking, patient-focused GP practice in the Norwich area (South Norfolk). This is a 12-month maternity cover position with the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate. It’s an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality care within a supportive and progressive environment.
Role Details
* Contract Type: 12-month maternity cover with potential for permanent role
* Hours: Minimum 25 hours per week, with flexibility on working days (to be agreed at interview)
* Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (pro rata, depending on experience)
* Start Date: Interviews scheduled for week commencing 8 September 2025
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver nursing care to patients as directed by GPs and within scope of practice
* Conduct triage (in-person and telephone), providing advice, treatments, and referrals
* Manage and support patients with long-term conditions, including asthma, COPD, and diabetes
* Run nurse-led clinics and maintain appointment/recall systems
* Mentor and support other clinical team members, including healthcare assistants and phlebotomists
* Contribute to the development of practice policies and clinical governance
What We're Looking For
* Registered General Nurse (RGN) with at least 2 years' post-registration experience in primary care or community nursing
* Skilled in:
o Chronic disease management (asthma, COPD, diabetes)
o Treatment room services and screening
o Vaccinations and immunisations
o Travel health advice
o Contraception and cervical screening
o Wound care and dressings
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
About the Practice
You'll be joining a modern, CQC-rated "Good" practice with approximately 11,500 registered patients. The practice is growing significantly, with recent investment in new clinical space and expansion plans to meet future community needs in the Norwich area.
