In partnership with National Highways, we’re shaping the future of travel at the A47 Thickthorn junction. Two new free‑flowing slip roads will ease congestion and improve connections between the A47 and A11 — saving commuters and businesses hundreds of hours every week.
You will be working in the Infrastructure OU based in Norwich in where we are responsible for bringing design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide – combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.
We are currently looking for a Quality Engineer who will implement Skanska’s quality assurance management system throughout all project phases, including construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
As the Quality Engineer, you will:
* Verify that suppliers have suitable quality management arrangements, including the deployment of competent resources and effective processes for successful project delivery.
* Conduct audits and surveillances, including assessments of supply chain (factory visits), to provide overall assurance and promptly address any issues identified.
* Support the development and implementation of a digital assurance system for field data capture.
* Assist the construction team and supply chain in implementing and managing Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring they are fully supported with quality records, and Field Change processes (RFI/NCR).
* Assist the Quality Manager and Project Team in resolving quality issues, identifying defects, and overseeing their rectification or repair.
We are looking for:
* Experience in quality assurance and control on construction site.
* Background in highways or similar high‑assurance environments.
* Experience of using digital systems and field tools.
* A collaborative approach with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at various levels.
* Focus on practical quality management and field application.
* Auditor qualification (desired).
