Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join the Wallasey & West Wirral adult CMHT at a time of exciting development. The team provides multidisciplinary assessment and intervention for people with complex mental health needs, focusing on a recovery model and trauma‑informed care.
Responsibilities
 * Deliver direct therapeutic work with individuals and families.
 * Support the delivery of psychologically informed care and care planning through case discussions, MDT meetings, supervision, training and consultation.
 * Provide psychological and neuropsychological assessment and interventions, including assessments for people with complex difficulties.
 * Contribute to ongoing service developments, including participation in the National CMHT Transformation Programme.
 * Engage in research and audit activities where encouraged.
Qualifications
 * Essential
 o Post‑graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or equivalent for those trained prior to 1996).
 o HPC registration.
 * Desirable
 o Post‑doctoral training or qualification in a specialised area such as ACT, DBT, EMDR, CBT, CFT, CAT or MBT.
 o Supervision qualification.
Knowledge & Expertise
 * Expertise in complex psychological assessment and intervention.
 * Evidence of continuing professional development and effective communication skills.
 * Experience in providing consultation to other professionals and non‑professional groups.
 * Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology.
Experience
 * Expertise in neuropsychological assessment.
 * Experience liaising with other health professionals.
 * Experience providing teaching and training.
 * Experience working with adults experiencing complex mental health difficulties.
Personal & Professional Development
 * Access to training in EMDR and other therapy modalities relevant to service users.
 * Support for gaining additional qualifications and attending national courses.
Additional Information
 * Band 8a for those with 1+ year post‑qualification experience; a Band 7 preceptorship is available for newly qualified clinicians progressing to band 8a.
 * Part‑time hours may be considered.
 * Permanent, full‑time contract. Salary £55,690 to £62,682 per annum, pro rata.
 * Location: Stein Centre, Derby Road, Birkenhead, CH42 0LQ.
