DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an enthusiastic Program Management Apprentice to join our team specializing in program management for our Power Systems segment at our office in Sandwich, Kent (UK). During your apprenticeship with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
During the apprenticeship you will study a Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship program (Level 6) over a 30-month period, plus 3-month endpoint assessment. This will result in the award of a BSc (Hons) Applied Business Management undergraduate degree and CMI Chartered Manager status on completion. The degree will enable you to develop effective leadership, communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and behaviors to make a real impact in the business. You will also obtain a thorough understanding of business finance, sales and operational strategy and be equipped with skills to address strategic challenges and opportunities within the organisation. This combination of value-added work and structured training will equip you with the professional skills and experience necessary to become a successful project manager and future business leader.
The Apprentice role is a developmental position within the Power Systems segment department. During the apprenticeship you will work 4 days per week, inclusive of 1 day per week for remote study of your qualification. The working hours are hours with flexible working to suit business needs. On completion of this apprenticeship, you will obtain a degree qualification & chartered management status
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
1. Provide support to the Program Leader to deliver complex, business critical projects using Cummins new product development processes.
2. Lead project teams to deliver on smaller scope projects/initiatives.
3. Attend weekly project core team meetings and provide support to record/distribute meeting notes and follow-up with team members on assigned actions.
4. Support identification, management and reporting of program risks.
5. Compile and report critical program KPIs and program updates to key stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
6. 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English and a science (Grade A*-C / 9-4).
7. You must be a UK resident who has lived in the UK for the last 3 years. If you are a previous resident of the EU/EEA, you must have gained pre-settlement or settlement status. If you are a non-UK resident, you must be on an acceptable Visa.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams.
9. A Level or equivalent in Business or a related subject.
10. Be a self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently, under your own initiative.
