Overview
The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Specialty Doctor in the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery. The post is based at Leicester Royal Infirmary and is to commence as soon as possible. The department undertakes the full range of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery services for a population of over one million in Leicestershire, including a large volume of routine dento-alveolar surgery and maxillofacial trauma. Special interests include Head and Neck Oncology, Oral and Facial Reconstruction, Facial Deformity (including Cleft Lip and Palate), Facial Trauma and Salivary Gland Disease. The timetable will be agreed with the post holder to reflect service demands, with a flexible working pattern. Teaching of junior staff, nurses or students may be part of the duties, and the post holder will be encouraged to develop a special interest.
Responsibilities
* Provide service commitment in the Maxillofacial Department, including dento-alveolar surgery and outpatient duties at Leicester Royal Infirmary and peripheral clinics in Leicestershire.
* Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service; contribute to teaching of junior staff, nurses or students.
* Potentially undertake involvement in other aspects of the department’s activities as appropriate to the post.
Qualifications
* Full GDC registration is required.
