Part-time Band 3 Medical Secretary role at Selby Hospital. You will support visiting consultants across multiple specialties. We are a small, supportive and friendly team.
Please note: This post may become permanent at the end of Fixed Term/Secondment.
Secondment: This vacancy will be considered for a secondment. If you would like your application to be considered for secondment, you must secure agreement from your line manager before you can be released to undertake the role.
Main duties
* Typing of clinic and discharge letters
* Consultant diary management
* Maintaining patient information and clinical systems
* Dealing with correspondence from patients and GPs

Qualifications
Essential
* Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent. English at C or above - or equivalent qualification/demonstrable experience
* Word Processing and Computer literacy skills to RSA3/NVQ3 Level
Desirable
* AMSPAR
* ECDL
Experience
* Essential: Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
* Thorough knowledge of complex medical terminology
* Previous Secretarial/Administrative experience (6 months minimum).
Desirable
* Previous Office/Administrative experience in an NHS environment
Skills
* Able to organize and prioritise own workload
* Possess a range of communication skills
* Able to function effectively as part of a team
