We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Hexham area that supports children with SEND and complex needs. The school is seeking a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to work full-time, supporting pupils in an Early Years setting and helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
This role is well suited to someone who is patient, caring, and committed to supporting children with additional needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
Working hours:
Monday to Friday, 08:30am to 15:30pm
The Role
1. Support children with SEND and complex needs on a one-to-one and small group basis
2. Assist with the day-to-day running of the EYFS classroom
3. Prepare and adapt learning resources to meet individual needs
4. Promote inclusion, positive behaviour, and emotional wellbeing
5. Support lesson delivery, observations, and adjustments to planning
6. Deliver targeted interventions and catch-up sessions where required
Requirements
7. Recent and relevant experience working with children or young people within the last two years
8. A strong commitment to supporting children with SEND and complex needs
9. Good literacy and numeracy skills
10. Ability to work under the guidance of the class teacher
11. Reliability and punctuality
