Overview
Female Applicants Only Please - Due to the personal care elements of this role an Occupational Requirement applies. This is permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010. We are looking for a personal care assistant to support a 19‑year‑old woman with cerebral palsy, learning disabilities and a wheelchair user.
Responsibilities
* Support the client with going out in the community and participating in activities such as youth groups, swimming, ice skating, shopping, lunch outings and other fun activities.
* Provide personal care and assistance, including use of hoists for transfers.
* Assist with driving the mobility car if a driver; non‑drivers will also be considered.
* Suggest additional suitable activities for the client.
* Maintain a good level of fitness to facilitate wheelchair and hoist use.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Experience in providing personal care or support for disabled clients is an advantage.
* Enjoy working with a positive and flexible approach, reliability, a caring attitude and a good sense of humour.
* Training on hoists can be provided if required.
* Must possess an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
