About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and motivated administrative Support Officer to join our clients team within the NHS. This is a vital role within a busy pathology department, supporting the accurate and timely processing of diagnostic information for patients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high‑quality administrative support, with a particular focus on the typing and preparation of macroscopy and microscopy reports for the Cellular Pathology service.
Key Responsibilities
* Typing macroscopy and microscopy reports with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Supporting pathologists and biomedical scientists with administrative tasks
* Maintaining patient confidentiality and ensuring compliance with data protection legislation
* Ensuring reports are completed and distributed within required turnaround times
* General office duties, including filing, data entry, handling enquiries, and using laboratory information systems
* Working effectively as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Has strong typing and data entry skills
* Works accurately under pressure and to deadlines
* Is organised, efficient, and able to prioritise workload
* Communicates clearly and professionally
* Has good IT skills and is confident with Microsoft Office
* Has previous administrative experience (NHS or medical terminology experience is desirable but not essential)
This is a temporary position which is expected to be for 2 months initially.
