We are seeking a patient and committed Teaching Assistant to join a school in the Braintree area. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who may face barriers to learning, by providing personalised support and encouragement.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored interventions that help pupils access learning and develop positive relationships. You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, assist in managing behaviour, and help create a safe, calm, and engaging environment where all students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students in lessons
* Support students in developing positive learning habits and behaviours
* Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging, accessible activities
* Promote inclusion and ensure all learners can access the curriculum
* Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
* Help create a safe and supportive learning environment
* Monitor and record student progress, feeding back to staff regularly
Qualifications and Experience
* Previous experience supporting young people, ideally in alternative provision or SEND settings
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
* A positive, proactive, and flexible approach to supporting students
* Understanding of behaviour management strategies (desirable)
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
