Job Description
Shift Patterns:
1. 4ON 4OFF Nights- 18:00-06:00am
2. £37,553 per annum.
To ensure the timely trailer movements, on and off loading bays and where applicable to deliver a shunt load from one location to another, as instructed, in line with Company standards and operational requirements.
Key Duties of a Shunter:
3. To place trailers to the required areas as per instructions.
4. To use two way radios to keep in contact with areas of the operation as necessary.
5. To ensure you carry out all safety checks, as designated by the company.
6. To ensure that you report defects, accident damage and any incidents as soon as they are found.
7. To ensure fridges are set at the correct temperature, in line with loaded product temperature requirements.
8. To ensure fridge diesel tanks have adequate fuel at all times.
9. To always be professional and courteous when communicating with your colleagues.
10. Reporting any breaches in speed limits by drivers and sub contractors to the transport department.
11. Keeping vehicle parking area layouts as they should be and reporting any issues of debris to the site services team.
12. Ensure that company standards of hygiene and housekeeping, in your areas of work, are maintained at all times.
13. To ensure you are working in line with Health & Safety legislation.
Qualifications
14. A Full C+E entitlement is needed for this position.
15. Previous shunting experience
16. Experience of working in a very fast paced environment
17. Written and verbal communication
18. Ability to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised environment
19. Self disciplined and motivated
