Job Description
Scope Of Position
The Host will be responsible for greeting and welcoming guests and serving guests in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner to deliver an excellent guest and member experience. The Host will maintain a clean and well-organised workspace and dining area, have extensive knowledge of menu offerings and systems informatics, and communicate with reservations teams to take reservations and special requests. You will also support other team members and relay guest feedback and requests to management.
Responsibilities
Operation
* Manage guest queries, bookings and special requests in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner.
* Ensure knowledge of menu, products, and special events and promotions.
* Follow correct reporting procedures if issues arise.
* Maintain grooming standards, including uniform, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
* Assist callers courteously and promptly, taking legible messages and passing them to the appropriate person without delay.
* Have knowledge of the restaurant's seating arrangements.
* Accompany guests to their table and support their welfare.
* Orient guests in the restaurant and respond to questions about the brand, concept, food, and artists featured.
* Comply with restaurant security, fire regulations, and all health and safety legislation.
* Commit to sustainable practices daily in terms of waste management and purchasing.
* Additional responsibilities in absence of line manager or senior staff; perform other duties as required, including working in a different department or restaurant.
Health and Safety
* Report and address potential hazards immediately.
* Be fully conversant with departmental Fire, Emergency and Bomb procedures.
* Ensure safety of persons and property by adhering to laws and ordinances and by anticipating hazards; correct or pre-plan defenses as needed.
* Promote general awareness of health and safety in the department.
Qualifications

Desirable
* Previous experience in a luxury hotel environment with standards such as LQA or Forbes 5*.
