Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established Local Authority in Blackpool for an experienced Childcare Solicitor to join their legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with strong experience in Childcare law and public law proceedings to work within a supportive local authority legal department. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload involving complex childcare matters and provide high-quality legal advice to internal stakeholders. Location: Blackpool / Hybrid Working Umbrella Rate : £60.00 – £70.00 per hour Umbrella PAYE Rate (Inclusive of Holiday Pay): Approx. £52.00 – £60.00 per hour Duration : 3-Month Rolling Contract Responsibilities as a Childcare Solicitor: Manage a caseload of childcare and safeguarding matters from instruction through to completion. Handle care proceedings, emergency protection orders, supervision orders, adoption matters, and special guardianship cases. Provide legal advice to social workers, senior management, and council committees on childcare and related legal issues. Draft and review legal documentation including applications, witness statements, pleadings, and court bundles. About you as a Childcare Solicitor: Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with a current practising certificate. Significant experience handling childcare/public law cases, ideally within a Local Authority setting. Strong advocacy skills or experience instructing counsel effectively. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and case management abilities. Ability to manage a busy caseload while working to strict deadlines.
