IBD Biologics Patient Pathway Coordinator

As the IBD Biologics Patient Pathway Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective and efficient coordination of patients on IBD treatment pathways. You will be the central point of contact for IBD-related queries throughout the day, managing communications via email, phone, and voicemail through the IBD helpline. In addition, you will support a variety of daily administrative and coordination tasks to help streamline patient care and service delivery.
The post holder will bring a range of experience in coordination and administration, along with compassionate approach to handling patient queries. Working within a busy and sometimes demanding environment, they will be part of a supportive team and must demonstrate strong teamwork skills.
Effective workload management and prioritisation are essential, as is the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and be confident in using their initiative when required.
As the role involves regular communication with patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals—primarily over the phone—exceptional communication skills and a courteous, efficient telephone manner are vital. A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is also required.
Working as part of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Specialist Team, the post holder will provide both administrative and support functions, contributing directly and positively to the delivery of services for patients with IBD. They will be expected to exercise sound judgement and initiative when managing patient enquiries, referrals, requests, and results, ensuring appropriate prioritisation.
Post holder will be responsible for organising and delivering the weekly multi-disciplinary team meetings, including following up on decisions made and ensuring all communications are completed and shared as necessary.
