Radiology in NHS FV is looking to further support the Radiology Service with this Department Operational Manager post. This post holder will be responsible for the operational management of the Radiology Department, including the safe delivery of the 12 sub-specialist Radiology Diagnostic imaging modalities.
We are interested in candidates who have an in-depth and wide knowledge of IR(ME)R2018, IRR2017, H&S, and active operational experience within a Radiology Service. Experience in leadership, rosters, equipment management, HR and staff support, and daily modality management is essential. NHS Forth Valley has 2 MRI scanners, 3 CT scanners, a SPECT NM scanner, two Mammography systems (CESM in April 2025), 5 US rooms, Fluoroscopy Room, State of the art IR room, 9 general rooms, a Dental suite with a CBCT unit, DXA scanner, 5 Digital Mobile Image Intensifiers, and 6 mobile digital x-ray units. Our Diagnostic Imaging Service is split between Forth Valley Royal Hospital (80% of service), Stirling Minor Injuries unit (General and US), and Falkirk Community Hospital (DXA).
We have an excellent MDT who contribute to the overall service delivery for patients in NHS Forth Valley together. The successful candidate will:
1. Have HCPC registration as a Radiographer
2. Be educated to Postgraduate/Masters level in Diagnostic Imaging
3. Have operational leadership experience across a variety of diagnostic imaging modalities.
4. Relevant experience of leadership in teams, supported by further education in this area – Post Graduate or NHS delivered.
5. Extensive NHS experience.
