Job Overview
This role is for a Bailiff in HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS). Bailiffs execute court orders, visit households and businesses, and work to resolve matters in a professional and empathetic manner.
Responsibilities
* Visit individuals in their homes and businesses to explain and execute court orders.
* Assess circumstances quickly, adapt plans as needed and manage workload effectively.
* Communicate clearly with customers, demonstrating empathy while maintaining professional standards.
* Adhere to safety and PPE requirements, attending training as required.
* Use court case‑management systems and other IT tools effectively.
Qualifications & Skills
* Full UK driving licence (required if you intend to use a lease car after probation).
* Experience or ability to work independently, in a small team or alone.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Capability to handle difficult conversations and provide clear information.
* Proficiency with IT tools and willingness to learn court case‑management systems.

Working Hours & Flexibility
Standard full‑time working hours are 37 hours per week. The role provides opportunities for part‑time, flexible and job‑sharing patterns in accordance with the MoJ Flexible Working policy. Minimum part‑time hours are 30 hours over four days.
