Responsibilities
* Lead the team to deliver the required hygiene standards for the area, with a key focus on team member safety, product safety and process improvement; provide daily support and coaching to all team members.
* Build a culture of safety within the area of responsibility.
* Ensure all activities have formal risk assessments and corrective actions completed as a priority.
* Promote positive behaviours, root cause near-miss analyses, and coaching to work safely.
* Ensure that all team members have the appropriate training to perform their tasks safely.
* Complete safety checks at the appropriate frequencies and maintain a safe working environment.
Hygiene Strategy
* Fully support activities defined within the hygiene master schedule for the area, focusing on area metrics.
* Drive new technology and methodologies to continuously improve hygiene standards.
* Work cross-functionally and build relationships to maximise performance, especially between day and night shifts.
* Ensure each team member understands their role in delivering business goals and build a high-performing team.
* Build strong relationships with each team member and minimise absenteeism; organise unplanned cover when required and manage cost implications.
* Train the team on OPEX tools, systems and standards; track team capability using versatility matrices.
* Involve the team in priority problem solving and promote a culture of learning and development.
* Communicate goals and manufacturing targets clearly through team forums and MySuccess; leverage strengths in the team.
* Use problem solving to remove obstacles to task completion; recognise successes and address performance issues promptly and discreetly.
* Collect and analyse hygiene performance data to drive improvement plans and improve key metrics; drive 3C problem-solving activity.
* Standardise hygiene work through 5S, Work Element Sheets, Standard Operating Procedures and other required standards; conduct hygiene confirmation checks to ensure standards are met and deliver value for the business and customer.
* Use visual management to communicate performance issues and corrective actions; ensure smooth handovers between shifts and prevent poor hygiene from transferring to next shift.
* Complete all documentation for safety, quality, operations, environment and asset management as required by our systems and by our customers.
Skills and Knowledge
* Proficient written, numerical, and verbal skills.
* Fluency in English (oral and written).
* Ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data.
* Experience in managing a hygiene operation.
* Problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
* Team management experience.
* Proficient with MS Office tools.
* Understanding of lean tools and formal problem solving.
* Detailed understanding of the processes in the area of responsibility.
