Senior Quantity Surveyor

Full‑time permanent position. Salary: £65,000.00 – £75,000.00.
Responsibilities
* Overseeing subcontract administration for the delivery of the works including design, site set‑up, civils, marine works, building and MEP works.
* Contract management and administration of multiple subcontracts (NEC4 Option A/C/E Subcontracts) and design contracts (NEC4 PSC Contract Option A/C/E), ensuring compliance with the contract and business management systems.
* Manage and assess the monthly payment process for the aforementioned subcontracts in accordance with the contractual timescales.
* Manage and co‑ordinate with the package manager the change‑management process under the subcontracts, including drafting contractor instructions, reviewing NCEs and quotations for compensation events.
* Manage the project’s main designer contract, ensuring assistance is provided to the design team on cost information of design.
* Work with the estimating manager and specialist suppliers to review and update the construction‑stage estimate in accordance with the latest design.
* Produce monthly cost and value reporting, including cash‑flow forecast and presentation to the senior management team.
* Register, notify and evaluate early‑warning procedure events.
* Assist the procurement manager in commercial and financial aspects of contracts.
* Provide contractual advice to the commercial, construction and engineering departments.
* Report to the commercial manager on contractual aspects of the project.
* Ensure compliance with the contractual requirements of the projects.
* Costing of value‑engineering proposals and assistance in the assessment of changes to the accepted programme.
* Prepare contractual correspondence and respond to communications from the project manager.
* Manage quantity surveying and assistant quantity surveyors during the construction stage of the project.
* Assist the commercial manager in educating the project team in the specific requirements of the NEC conditions of contract.
Qualifications, Certifications & Experience
* Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to report at management level.
* Experience working on NEC3 or NEC4 contracts and administering NEC3 or subcontract (Option A/B/C/E).
* Experience working for a main contractor on large civil‑engineering or infrastructure projects.
* Good understanding of EU and UK legislative requirements affecting procurement.
* Analytical mind and logical problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Committed to an ethos of accountability, cost‑effectiveness, high quality and customer‑driven service delivery.
* High degree of commercial awareness.
* Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer.
* Holder of a CSCS Card.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent in a numerate or commercial discipline.
* Member or Associate Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), or working towards membership.
