Teacher of English – Coventry – September\n\n📍Location: Blue Coat Church of England School and Music College, Coventry\n\n✅Ofsted rating: ‘Good’\n\n💷 Salary: MPS/UPS\n\n🗓️ Start Date: September 2025\n\n📜Contract Type: Full/Part Time – Permanent\n\n * Are you a qualified, literate and inspirational Teacher?\n\n * Do you have a passion to develop students’ abilities in the key areas of communication: reading, writing and oracy?\n\n * Will you foster a positive learning environment to appreciate the role Literature has in communicating universal themes and promoting a richer understanding of the context of Literary Study?\n\nTwenty4Seven Education is seeking a full-time qualified, ambitious and articulate Teacher to teach English, in the innovative Blue Coat Church of England School and Music College in Coventry. This exciting new permanent contract is to start in September, teaching across all key stages including KS5. They also provide ample opportunities for personal and professional development.\n\nThe English department provides the opportunity to work within a well-qualified and experienced team to make a real difference to the learning of their young people.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Have regard for the need to safeguard pupils’ well-being following statutory provisions\n\n * Plan, teach and assess the assigned classes according to the National Curriculum, the agreed departmental curriculum policies and schemes of work, having regard for relevance, differentiation, progression and evaluation of learning\n\n * Adopt a variety of teaching styles suitable to the needs of the pupils\n\n * Monitor, support and encourage pupils in their learning, behaviour and appearance in line with agreed guidelines\n\n * Monitor pupil behaviour and attendance at individual lessons, promptly reporting concerns through either the academic or pastoral management structure as appropriate\n\n * Regularly set and mark appropriate class work and homework, to be completed in accordance with the School’s Homework Policy and published timetable\n\n * Take responsibility for improving teaching through appropriate professional development, responding to advice and feedback from colleagues\n\n * Communicate effectively with parents and other professionals about pupils’ achievements and well-being\n\n * To carry out any other duties as directed by the Head of Department that are within the scope, purpose and spirit of the role\n\nMust have:\n\n * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)\n\n * Right to work in the UK\n\n * Satisfactory teaching references covering the last 2 years\n\n * Experience teaching within an educational setting or similar\n\n * Up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum\n\n * Excellent subject knowledge of English\n\n * Read the DfE ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ (2024) document\n\n * Excellent classroom management\n\n * Good Literacy, Numeracy and IT skills\n\nHow to apply:\n\nPlease fill in the details below and attach an up to date CV.\n\nBlue Coat school is a fantastic, supportive place to work and learn and we look forward to receiving your application.\n\nWe welcome applications from driven and dependable Early Career Teachers and experienced teachers looking for a new challenge.\n\nThe Benefits of Twenty4Seven Education:\n\n * T4S is an accredited REC member\n\n * 24/7 support from your designated dedicated and friendly consultant\n\n * Competitive pay rates\n\n * £100 Refer-a-Friend Scheme (terms & conditions apply)\n\n * FREE online safeguarding training course\n\n * FREE online professional development training from our Education Support team\n\nTwenty4Seven Education is dedicated to safer recruitment, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
