We are looking for a highly organised and proactive clinical support Assistant to join our busy GP practice team. This is a non clinical role supporting our nursing and clinical teams by ensuring consulting rooms, equipment and clinical supplies are fully prepared. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast paced healthcare environment and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
Main duties of the job
Restocking clinical rooms for daily clinics
Managing clinical stock and ordering supplies
Supporting vaccine stock control and cold chain processes
Carrying out equipment and safety checks
Collating and averaging home blood pressure readings
Supporting immunisation programmes
Assisting with clinical audits
Report fault findings

We are a well established forward thinking GP practice serving approximately 22,000 patients across two sites on the outskirts of Kettering. Both sites offer on site parking.
Our clinical team includes seven GP partners and a team of salaried GPs supported by experienced nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Nurse Associate and administrative staff. We also work closely with our Primary Care Network (PCN) colleagues including additional roles such as a Physiotherapist. Job Purpose
To support the nursing andclinical team by ensuring that treatment rooms, equipment, vaccines andclinical supplies are appropriately stocked, maintained and organised. Additionally, to assist with basic data tasksincluding averaging blood pressures home readings, allowing the nursing team tofocus on patient are efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
1.Clinical Room Support
Restock clinical rooms with necessary consumables.
Ensure clinical rooms are tidy, organised and ready for clinics.
Checksharps bins, PPE and clinical waste.
2.Stock Management
Monitor stock levels of consumables and vaccines.
Order supplies when running low.
Rotate stock and check expiry dates regularly.
Maintain accurate stock records and logs.
Monitor vaccine stocks and place orders as required.
Maintain vaccine stock records and expiry logs.
Ensure cold chain compliance.
4.Data Support & Audits
Collate and average home BP readings for patients as per practice policy.
Assist in completing audits.
Maintain logs for audit and quality purposes.
Perform weekly emergency equipment checks.
Ensure clinical equipment is functioning and report faults.
Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
5.Administration/Documentation
Maintain clinical stock levels on SystmOne.
Ensure compliance with all practice policies and regulatory requirements.
To attend nurse meetings monthly.
Person Specification
Experience
* Organised and reliable
* Interpersonal skills to liaise with all practice teams
* Attention to detail and accuracy in stock data and equipment checks.
* Basic IT skills for spreadsheets and record keeping.
* SystmOne knowledge
* Good communication skill and ability to work within a team.
* GP practice or healthcare experience
* Knowledge of vaccines and cold chain procedures
* Basic understanding of audits and quality improvement processes
* Training and Development
* Induction covering practice systems, stock management audits and infection control workflow.
* Ongoing access to relevant training
