As a Welder, Fabricator & Assembly Operative, you’ll be responsible for manufacturing steel frames, doors, panels and associated products, working accurately from detailed drawings and specifications.
This is a hands-on shop-floor role where quality, consistency and attention to detail are key.
You’ll be responsible for:
Welding, fabricating and assembling steel products to detailed drawings
Producing steel frames, doors and panel variants to specification
Working on both project-specific and standard stock components
Ensuring weld quality, consistency and integrity at every stage
Self-inspecting your work to required quality standards
Highlighting and recording any issues, variances or improvements
Working to production deadlines and lead times
Following all Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices
Supporting general production and housekeeping activities when required
Contributing to continuous improvement and quality initiatives
Supporting internal quality audits when required

What you’ll need
To be successful as a Welder / Fabricator / Assembly Operative, you’ll bring:
Proven experience welding, fabricating and assembling steel components
Ability to read and work from detailed engineering drawings
A methodical, quality-focused approach
Confidence self-inspecting work and meeting quality standards
Ability to work to deadlines in a production environment
Strong awareness of Health & Safety
A proactive attitude and willingness to contribute to improvements
Experience producing security, fire-rated or fabricated steel products would be advantageous, but not essential for the right person.
