Overview

Mental Health Practitioner/Occupational Therapist/Speech and Language role at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT CAMHS). This position involves working with Children and Young People aged up to 18 years with a wide range of complex emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will promote and improve the mental health and well-being of young people and those who care for them, manage a defined caseload, and be responsible for assessment, treatment and discharge of young people.

With current NMC, HCPC, SWE or BABCP registration alongside a recognised qualification, you should have a working knowledge of CAMHS and/or adult mental health and understand assessing complex mental health needs and levels of risk, including safeguarding and self-harm.


Responsibilities

* Undertake assessments and formulate plans for intervention in collaboration with the Child/Young Person and those who care for them.
* Provide ongoing intervention and manage a defined caseload as part of the duty and assessment team within CAMHS.
* Promote patient-centred involvement and maintain effective communication between Young People, their carers, health professionals, and other relevant agencies to ensure a coordinated care journey.
* Apply evidence-based practice and therapeutic approaches in line with NICE guidelines.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and ensure appropriate safeguarding measures are in place.


Qualifications and Experience

* Current registration with NMC, HCPC, SWE or BABCP (as applicable) and a recognised qualification in a core profession (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Mental Health Nursing or Social Work).
* Working knowledge of CAMHS and/or adult mental health; ability to assess complex mental health needs and risk, including safeguarding and self-harm.
* Experience of working with vulnerable people and their carers who present with complex mental health needs and risk to themselves or others.
