Salford professional Development Ltd (SPD) was formed as a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Salford in and provides non-accredited learning and commercial focus to the University of Salford. SPD Group has 2 separate business units within it.
SPD focuses on continuous professional development and training courses across a range of subjects, preferably but not exclusively, aligned with programmes offered by the University of Salford. It also delivers several events and conferences and is building its international presence in conjunction with the Universitys priorities.

Role Detail
Taking ownership of lead generation through proactive outreach, including phone, email, Teams meetings, and occasional client visits, while also focusing on converting marketing-generated leads to sales. You will be expected to lead on a specific industry or sector, establishing yourself as the primary point of contact and expert in that field.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Building and maintaining a strong pipeline by generating your own leads and nurturing marketing-generated prospects through to conversion
2. Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within your sector, providing accurate sales forecasting
3. Actively promoting and filling places on Open Courses aligned with organisational priorities alongside our planned conference sponsors, as well as generating delegate registrations for Grad Skills programmes and promoting Bespoke and Closed opportunities.
4. Delivering excellent customer service and managing client relationships effectively through a consultative approach
5. Ensuring monthly revenue targets are met, with clear visibility of future pipeline
6. Maintaining all relevant management information systems
7. Participating in team meetings and sharing best practices with colleagues
8. Regularly reviewing your own performance with the goal of exceeding targets
9. Supporting the Team Leader on strategic sales initiatives and, when appropriate, mentoring newer team members and contributing to product development
