Step Teachers Manchester are hiring for a Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant in Bury.
This is a Temp-to-Perm role, starting ASAP at a Secondary Alternative Education Provision in Bury.
Role details
Role: Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant at Secondary Alternative Provision in Bury.
Start: ASAP.
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm.
Contract: Temp-to-Perm could move onto contract at end of 12 weeks.

What you’ll do
* Support children with SEMH, challenging behaviours, and Autism in class.
* Show empathy, patience, and perseverance to pupils from vulnerable backgrounds & provide encouragement and positive reinforcement.
* Identify triggers and use preventative and de-escalation strategies for behaviour management.
* Break down tasks and instructions for easier understanding and achievement.
* Support the wider class or other pupils as needed.
* Work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and outside professionals.
* Maintain a safe, positive, inclusive, and collaborative environment.

Requirements
* CV with at least 10 years of work & education history.
* Right to Work, ID & Proof of Address in the UK.
* DBS certificate on the Update Service (or be happy to apply for a new one).
* References covering the last 2 years.
* Overseas Police Check (if applicable).
