Financial Assurance

For those charged with governance, the focus on setting clear, high quality reporting standards has never been greater. The Financial Assurance team specialise in assuring the financial statement, transactions and accounting. By collaborating with other teams and our global network of specialist, they deliver assurance that protects the public interest and fosters even greater levels of trust, underpinned by our priority focus on quality.

Deloitte UK’s Corporate Treasury practice provides a full range of high value audit and assurance services to corporate clients across every industry sector. Our support ranges from:

1. Providing specialist financial instrument input into external audit services;
2. Accounting advice on challenging and complex treasury transactions;
3. Assisting in developing practical solutions for the application of hedge accounting;
4. Derivative valuations; and
5. Supporting the treasurer and CFO by providing independent advice and assurance over all aspects of their control environment throughout the treasury lifecycle;
6. We have an exciting opportunity for a high-performing and self-starting individual to join our growing team of Corporate Treasury practitioners in London and across our North, Midlands and South regional practices.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Manager within Deloitte's Corporate Treasury Services team, you will have the opportunity to support us in building a business focused on serving the world's leading Corporate Treasuries with their most complex business challenges. You will have responsibility for:

7. Taking ownership of the delivery of high quality audit engagements from planning through to reporting. This includes providing specialist support to external audit teams (derivative valuations, hedge accounting, IFRS 9/FRS 102 accounting treatment, application of impairment model etc) and managing the external audit of the Treasury function from end to end;
8. Depending on your experience, supporting delivery of high quality non audit engagements for our non-audit clients only. This includes providing services relating to treasury accounting and treasury governance, operations and controls (including internal audit);
9. Dealing with technical and complex accounting and auditing queries that may shape future precedent and industry practice;
10. Establishing and maintaining key relationships across our corporate client base, with a focus on exceptional client service;
11. Driving continuous improvement through innovation and transformation, embracing change and challenging the way we do things to develop our treasury audit methodology;
12. Contributing to Corporate Treasury team’s strategy and identifying new opportunities for Deloitte to help its clients;
13. Being a leader in the corporate treasury team, including project management/leadership of client engagements, developing talent and capability and acting as a role model for Deloitte’s values and behaviours;
14. Establishing and maintaining relationships across service lines and geographies to deliver market and client focused solutions;
15. Being responsive to and anticipating clients’ needs, providing strategic and relevant insight;
16. Being part of a wider community helping to grow our practice and develop our strategy; and
17. Managing diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.

18. A relevant accounting qualification, such as the ACA or equivalent;
19. Previous ISA and/or PCAOB audit experience;
20. Thorough knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS;
21. Thorough knowledge of IAS 39, IFRS 9 and FRS 102 Section 11/12;
22. Valuation of financial instruments and/or hedge accounting experience;
23. Detailed understanding of the treasury function and financial reporting processes and internal controls;
24. A commitment to audit quality and demonstrable experience of applying professional skepticism;
25. A proven track record in establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with clients;
26. Strong leadership skills both on engagements and in an office environment;
27. Experience of motivating and developing high performing teams to reach their potential;
28. An ability to implement solutions to address changes in regulatory requirements and a track record of embracing and delivering change;
29. Report writing, presentation and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communications skills;
30. Effective time management and commitment to work to tight deadlines;
31. Excellent organisation, planning and project management abilities;
32. Ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
33. Experience of managing and improving engagement economics;
34. An ability to play an active role in the business development process, contributing to tenders and large audit and assurance proposals; and
35. Previous experience at similar level is preferred.

Assurance

Businesses need to be resilient and transparent in their reporting to build trust and confidence. Assurance practitioners play a key role in achieving this through independent review and challenge of management’s views on a range of regulatory and reporting requirements, whether financial, operational or compliance in nature.

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (, in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (, you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
