Are you an experienced Behaviour Support Specialist looking to make a real difference in a school setting?
We are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Behaviour Support Officer to join a supportive school environment in Bridgend, South Wales. This full-time role is ideal for someone who has experience working with children and young people with challenging behaviour, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, or social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties (SEBD).
* Provide 1-to-1 and small group behaviour support to pupils aged 7-19.
* Assist pupils with academic tasks and encourage classroom participation.
* Support students during break times and lunch - often the most challenging parts of the day.
* Help implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques.
* Offer personal care support when required (training provided).
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external specialists.
* An Enhanced DBS (on the update service) or willingness to apply for one.
* EWC (Education Workforce Council) registration - or willingness to register.
* Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs.
* Strong understanding of SEN, particularly SEMH and ASC.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
* Competitive daily pay (£83.85/day).
