Please note we require 6 people for an immediate start, and for a minimum of 2 months. The staff will join the team set up for the Homes for Ukraine scheme, to assist with home visits, DBS checks and other admin tasks. Ideally the candidate will already have a DBS. The role is based in Bognor, with some home working and travel across West Sussex. There is flexibility to work out of other locations as required.
Please note we are currently reviewing our home / office working arrangements and will be trialling working 4 days per week from Durban House Bognor Regis, It is subject to change but are very keen to see the return of working together from the office.

Communities Support staff
The Communities Directorate are seeking 6-8 people for an estimated period of 6 weeks to support an existing team with activity for the Homes for Ukraine scheme and tasks across the Directorate.
Property visits
Prior the visit
Receiving details of properties needing a visit and details of the staff member you will be making the visit with (your buddy)
Coordinate with your visit buddy where to meet, who is driving etc
Ensure you have all necessary paperwork for visit
At the visit
Provide a professional and welcoming approach
Explain what will happen at the visit and ask if there are any questions
Undertake visit using property visit framework and template
Making clear notes for all areas on the form
Answer any questions as required
Through conversation raise any potential issues or things for consideration e.g. smoke detector, covers for ponds, pets etc
Through conversation ask questions about how the Sponsor and guests will share facilities
As required, check DBS documents following guidance and record documents seen
Thank the homeowner for their time
After the visit
Immediately raise any safeguarding concerns to Community Hub by phone
Send completed paperwork to Community Hub by email or drop off paper copies or enter details of Property visit on system and file paperwork
DSB checks and booking in property visits
Contacting Sponsors to introduce WSCC to them and provide a professional and welcoming approach
Provide information, advice and guidance
Commence basic DBS process if appropriate
Book in time for property visit
If enhanced DBS is required, book in time for Teams video call
Make Teams video calls for Enhanced DBS checks
Complete application
Check documents in line with guidance
Update systems
General administration and customer service tasks
Provide admin and customer service support for a range of tasks across the Directorate, these could include:
Triaging request and responding to emails
Answering inbound telephone calls
Making out bound telephone calls
Providing information, advice, guidance and signposting
Helping residents access practical support
Using a number of WSCC systems to provide customers with support
Completing administration tasks e.g. data entry, logging information, updating records, ordering products, raising requests
