Job Duties

Interested in joining a thriving mission-based organization with the opportunity to make lasting impact across the Commonwealth? Join our team! We are recruiting for a Communications Specialist. This position will join our growing Communications Team as a strategic storyteller who helps support internal and external messaging, crafting compelling content across various channels to build brand reputation and engage our audiences.

1. Develop content and segment messaging to reach a broad audience across marketing channels such as websites, landing pages, articles, email, social media, sponsorships, events, webinars, print, radio, digital ads, and press releases.
2. Serve as lead for medium and large marketing related projects and events including planning, tracking, adjusting execution based on audience and ensuring appropriate materials are available and deadlines are met
3. Coordinate day-to-day execution for content needs in alignment with the content calendar, ensuring message consistency across programs and audiences, on-time publication, and effective coordination with cross-functional teams.

Minimum Qualifications

4. 5+ years’ experience in public relations, marketing, communications
5. Experience managing small to mid-sized marketing projects with deadlines
6. Experience developing marketing plans and drafting complex communications
7. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to large, diverse audiences in person or electronically
8. Ability to independently prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
9. Knowledge of social media measurement and analytics tools
10. Ability to work effectively within a marketing team and cross-functionally with other divisions and departments
11. Ability to proofread, maintain brand consistency and ensure high quality work
12. Ability to solve problems creatively
13. Knowledge of basic marketing concepts, strategies and tactics
14. Understanding of content strategy, writing marketing content and design basics

Work Environment:

15. Typical office environment with considerable time in a sitting, stationary position
16. Must be able to occasionally move around the building or other public venuesConstantly operate a computer and other office equipment including typing and keying
17. Frequently communicate with vendors, employees, and guests; must be able to exchange accurate information accordingly
18. Occasionally bend and squat to lift or move boxes or supplies
19. Occasionally lift, carry, and move up to 20 pounds unassisted
20. Periodic travel required
