Job Overview
Bosworth Independent School is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to support our food and beverage service across multiple areas including the main café and school dining hall. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone with strong customer service skills and a passion for delivering a first‑class experience.
This role will require you to work 5 hours per day Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 13:30.
Main Responsibilities
* Assist in producing meals at high volume, ensuring quality is maintained and value for money is achieved.
* Ensure all students and staff receive a varied and balanced diet in accordance with government legislation and school food policy.
* Deliver excellent customer service consistently to students, staff, guests, and the public.
* Comply with all food hygiene, health and safety, allergen, and cleaning protocols, including HACCP and COSHH standards.
* Support stock control, cleaning schedules, waste reduction, and food safety documentation.
* Represent the catering team positively and uphold the school's values of Excellence, Care, and Community.
* Work across multiple service points as directed and according to the rota.
Person Specification
* Good level of spoken and written English.
* Previous experience in an educational or facilities environment.
* Ability to work using own initiative and within timeframes.
* Strong awareness of hygiene and cleanliness.
* Friendly, reliable, and punctual.
* Flexible and adaptable to business needs and shift patterns.
* Professional presentation and a warm, welcoming manner.
Desired Attributes
* Relevant qualification in catering, hospitality, or food service management (e.g., NVQ Level 2).
* First Aid and Health & Safety training.
* Experience in the hospitality industry.
